Loch Garry, Highlands
Loch Garry, Highlands May
Loch Garry is a freshwater loch, located in the Glen Garry area in the Highlands. The loch is probably best known for its striking resemblance, when viewed from the A87 road at a particular angle, to a map of Scotland. This quirk is such a tourist attraction that a parking spot has been placed by the road for the purpose of viewing it. Prior to the Highland Clearances of the 18th and 19th centuries, it was populated by the MacDonnell Clan. The area provides a rich landscape for hill walkers.
