Coll is a small island off the west Highland coast, accessible by air and by a ferry service that operates from Oban on the mainland. It is approximately 13 miles long and 4 miles across at its widest, and has a varying population of between 100 and 200 people. A picturesque location characterised by sandy beaches, the island is home to plentiful wildlife, such as seals and otters. The island is also an exceptional spot for bird-watching, and is particularly notable for its protected corncrake population.
